Northern Israel Reels from Iranian Missile Strikes That Leave Two Dead

Northern Israel experienced a deadly escalation on Saturday night as Iranian missile strikes struck various areas, killing at least two people and injuring others. Emergency crews were deployed across the Northern District, working through the early hours of Sunday to respond to widespread destruction. One of the victims was a young woman in her 20s who died in Tamra, a town in the western Galilee region.
Fire and rescue services confirmed they had deployed eight teams to assist with the aftermath. In one location, firefighters managed to rescue four women from a collapsed building, though tragically, two of them did not survive. The structure, a four-story residential building, suffered major damage when its upper floor partially caved in from the impact.
Northern District Commander Sergeant Yair Elkayim said the site revealed significant destruction, and rescue crews are continuing to search for people who may be trapped. Emergency responders are also working to locate and assess other missile impact sites throughout the Galilee region, where further damage and casualties may have occurred.
In a separate operation, fire crews pulled a critically injured individual from the same damaged building. The Israel Fire and Rescue Services reported ongoing search efforts to identify any remaining victims, along with a continuing investigation into nearby areas that may have also been hit. The situation remains tense and highly volatile.
As missiles lit up the skies, residents across Israel witnessed the growing military conflict with Iran reaching their doorsteps. The two nations exchanged attacks throughout the weekend, with visible trails of projectiles marking the night. Civil defense sirens warned people to take cover as multiple impacts were confirmed across residential zones.
Fires were reported in the Lower Galilee, where three firefighting teams tackled a blaze engulfing an agricultural structure. Emergency services were also called to extinguish fires in open fields and neighborhoods across the northern and coastal districts. The strikes caused not only physical destruction but also widespread panic and disruption.
The Israel Fire and Rescue hotline received numerous calls reporting missile hits, structural damage, and fire outbreaks. Many residents were left without power or shelter as buildings sustained heavy damage. With the possibility of further attacks, emergency services remain on standby, and communities are bracing for continued conflict.
