Brothers Among Victims in Glendale Shooting at Car Show Event

Authorities in Glendale, Arizona, are investigating a fatal shooting that erupted Sunday night at a combined concert and car show, leaving three people dead and five others injured. Officials emphasized the altercation was between individuals who knew each other.

The shooting occurred at El Camaron Gigante, a restaurant known for hosting public events. Tensions escalated after an argument during the event spilled into the parking lot, where the violence turned deadly, according to city spokesperson Jose Miguel Santiago.

Two 21-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy were killed in the shooting. Officials later clarified that the younger victim and one of the 21-year-olds were brothers, correcting earlier errors in reporting.

Five additional people sustained injuries, including two women in their early twenties and a 16-year-old boy who required surgery. Police said the injuries came from bullets or shrapnel and that the teen is expected to survive.

Officers responded to a flood of emergency calls around 7:45 p.m. and arrived to find a large, chaotic crowd. The venue was still operating, and between 200 to 300 people were present. No law enforcement or security personnel discharged weapons, and several people were brought in for questioning.

Investigators are continuing to probe the scene, working to confirm how many shooters were involved and identify the weapons used. The incident marks one of the nearly 100 mass shootings in the United States so far this year.
